*Grill Grate Care & Maintenance :*

Season Before First Use :
Before cooking for the first time, wash the grill grate with warm water and dry thoroughly. Apply a thin coat of high-smoke-point cooking oil (such as canola, grapeseed, or avocado oil) to all surfaces. Place the grate over a hot fire for 20–30 minutes to help build a natural protective seasoning.

Keep It Seasoned!
To maintain a naturally non-stick cooking surface and help protect the steel :
- Apply a light coat of cooking oil after cleaning and while the grate is still warm.
- Regular seasoning will improve cooking performance and extend the life of the grate.

Cleaning :
- After each use, allow the grate to cool slightly, then clean with a grill brush or scraper.
- For heavier buildup, wash with warm water and a soft brush or non-abrasive scrub pad.
- Dry the grate completely after washing to prevent unnecessary rust.

Storage :
When not in use, store the grill grate indoors or in a dry location. If left outdoors, keep it covered whenever possible to minimize moisture exposure.

Natural Steel Finish :
Your grill grate is made from raw steel and may naturally develop surface rust if exposed to moisture. This is normal and does not affect its performance.

If surface rust appears :
- Brush or scrub the affected area until clean.
- Wash and dry the grate thoroughly.
- Reapply a thin coat of cooking oil.
- Heat the grate over a fire to restore the seasoning.
